SUMMERY RECIPES AND 10% OFF - JUNE 2020

Crikey it's hot! While the temperatures have been soaring this week we have managed to resist the temptation to head to the seaside, and instead have been doing lots of cooking – in reality Ben has done most of it - he has been a complete star! We thought we would share a couple of Summery recipes with you that you might enjoy. WATERMELON TOMATO RED ONION AND FETA SALAD - serves 6 as a side 1 watermelon (a smallish one will be plenty), ½ a red onion, handful of fresh mint, 1 punnet ripe cherry tomatoes, crumbled feta (approx. 100g) For the dressing  - 2 tbsp...

FATHERS DAY IS COMING, AND WE'VE GOT 10% OFF! - JUNE 2020

It's so easy in these strange times to even forget what day of the week it is. We worked out last night that it has been twelve weeks and one day since the children arrived home - it has been such a treat having them here with us, but I know it's not great for them in their twenties, and they are understandably craving their own space. Let's be honest, wouldn't everyone love a change of scene! Right now, although I am sitting writing this, I am so excited as everyone has gone to visit Granny, and I have got an evening on my own. STRANGE TIMES ..... BUT THE SUN IS SHINING! - MARCH 2020

How lucky it is that, despite the strange times we are living through at the moment, Spring is springing, the sun is shining and the skies are blue. With all of us confined to our homes at the moment one thing...

AUTUMN COLOURS, AUTUMN FLAVOURS & HALLOWEEN TREAT - OCTOBER 2019

A couple of weeks ago we had booked to go away to Dorset for a long weekend - a lovely romantic get away in a shepherd's hut with plans to do lots of lovely long walks along the coast - we were so looking forward to it. We arrived on the Friday afternoon in a downpour but the shepherd's hut was lovely, and we spent that evening in the village pub, The Square & Compass in Worth Matravers. It is complete time warp, untouched by modern trappings, has fantastic cider and pasties beautifully served on a paper plate! The following morning we were woken by torrential rain on our tin roof at 5am, and...

SPRINGTIME HOPE IN ALL THE MADNESS, AND DISCOUNTS THIS WEEKEND - APRIL 2019

What a tonic nature is - thank goodness that despite the madness which continues to consume the political world, and the fact that we are once again on hold, life does keep going - nature is the best example of this. I imagine many of you, like me, turned on the radio to the news of the Brexit extension first thing this morning - OMG! But with this weather the gloom soon dissipated - what a day it has turned into here in Oxford. It has been so beautiful - about as good as it gets. I had the most amazing walk with the...
