May is always a busy month in the Taylor household with a number of birthdays and anniversaries, so lots to celebrate. Then there was the arrival of the new Global HQ which is amazing and I am loving it! I cannot sing the praises of the shed company I used more - if you need any sort of garden building I promise you Kidbys are your people - I love them.
This is me in Copenhagen where we spoilingly spent a few days a couple of weeks ago. What a great place. We had wonderful weather which was a huge bonus, especially as everyone cycles everywhere - we covered miles, and saw so much. It's so easy to get around, it's incredibly clean, the people are lovely and the food is delicious. Copenhagen is known for it's Michelin starred restaurants, and we did go to one which was really special, but actually what we loved most was a really cool Street Food Market called Reffen - you could get any type of food you wanted, and then just relax in the sun and watch the world go by.
Here are a few snaps.
The weather here seems to have taken a slight turn for the worse today after being so amazing this week. Let's hope it returns and we can do some more outdoor eating. Even if you have to eat them inside both these recipes are great.
Oven Roasted Asparagus is a real favourite of mine and with asparagus in season right now it is the perfect time to try it. Using the freshest asparagus possible, firstly break off any tough ends then place the tips in a roasting tray, drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with rock salt. Roast in the oven at 190C for about 10 mins and then tuck in before anyone else does!
It was Lizi's birthday this week and we barbequed an Asian marinaded filet of beef (amazing!) which we had with Wasabi mayo and various salads - one was this colourful Asian Slaw. It's a great one for summer eating and has such great flavour. Given that the dressing has both olive oil and white balsamic I thought I would share it.
This week I have a garden fair in Oxfordshire, and then another in Wiltshire in a couple of weeks time. If you want to come and find me then do checkout the up to date Where to Buy page on the website.
Now that I am fully up and running in the new Global HQ I am offering a 10% discount this weekend on Olive Oil (does not include multiples of tins which are already discounted). Just add SUNNYDAYS at the checkout, and let's hope they return soon!
