It is being widely reported in the press that premium extra virgin olive oil is now replacing wine as the "go-to gift" so you happily need look no further for inspiration.
According to reports there are multiple reasons for this trend. There is so much buzz around health and wellness now which has led to more people consciously making better decisions around the way they chose to live, and one thing they consider as an integral part of that is the food they eat. Provenance and quality are much more valued than they have been for some time, and with many more people choosing to cook at home having great ingredients on hand is a joy ... Extra Virgin Olive Oil is sounding like a good option!
In addition it is widely reported that more people are opting to drink less alcohol, so a bottle of olive oil as a gift is hugely appreciated - the fact that it also looks nice in the kitchen is a real bonus, and unlike a bottle of wine which once opened tends to be consumed in an evening, a bottle of EVOO will potentially give pleasure for some considerable time.
