I wanted to say "Hi" to those of you I haven't seen for some time, and to those of you I have had a chance to catch up with thank you for coming and seeing us at the fairs - there have been some fab fairs and November has shot past, but it's nice to be back at home today - the only thing missing is my doggies! With Bert being so needy I decided he and Billie would be better going to stay with my lovely dog sitter during my busy busy time which I have to admit has been a joy, and they have been having a lovely time too - win win! They are coming back this weekend and I can't wait - let's see how long my excitement lasts!
A gentle reminder that The Online Christmas Fair is still running and there are so many small independent brands taking part. All I can say is that every single one of us so appreciates all the support we get from people like you - it makes everything we do worthwhile and it puts a REALLY big smile on our faces, so while it is so chilly this weekend grab a cuppa and have a browse. Just remember to quote OCF2021 to get all the fab offers including 10% off with Fino. THANK YOU from all of us for supporting our small businesses.
WARMING ROASTED WINTER VEG SALAD
I don't know about you but I love salad and eat it in one form or another almost every day. In my memory as a child salad consisted of a bit of lettuce, chopped tomatoes and cucumber and that was probably it (very good it was too mum!) but "salads" now are so much more exciting and imaginative and you can incorporate almost anything in to them, creating a riot of flavour, colour and taste - it's jolly chilly here in Oxford today, and Rupert is working from home too, so this Roasted Winter Veg Salad seemed the perfect option for our lunch - a mixture of sweet potato, carrot, cauliflower, courgette, squash, kale, chilli, capers and chickpeas because that's what I happened to have - chop everything, drizzle liberally with olive oil and rock salt and oven roast for about 30 mins - serve warm sprinkled with pomegranate seeds, and of course dressed with a more of our olive oil and balsamic! Hardly complicated but delicious. I wonder what you will make?
Have a happy weekend ....
